Delayed Justice

Investigation Discovery’s Murder Book tonight has chronicled the solution to the 1987 murders of Gail and Rick Brink. That has set off a wave of searches and some people are landing here. I saw it and thought the story telling very well done. It was good to see Detectives Venus Repper and Dave Blakely (retired), and assistant prosecutor Lee Fisher have a chance to articulate how they solved the crime. That solution started with the meticulous keeping of notes and evidence, photos and observations of the initial investigators. That’s where Venus made her crucial first observation of a photo that revealed to her that whoever killed Gail was close to her. I am grateful they were able to make the case. But what a case! As Dave Blakely said at the end of the program, this was a tragedy. But their work at last brought justice.
